Millennials and Today’s Economy: What Do We Do About Burnout? With Claire – TMP 029

Burnout can happen at any age.

Adult life is consumed by commitments: work, commutes, chores, family, friends, hobbies, and more. It can feel like we’re always moving, always connected, and rarely take time to sit down. Not taking the time to re-energize and decompress can put any of us on the fast track to burnout.

Today, co-hosts Ted and Vanessa talk with Claire Nyles Suer, Managing Editor of Puttylike, to discuss the state of burnout in today’s economy and some ideas for what we can do about it. They talk about how to overcome the instability and uncertainty of trying to do things that are “untraditional,” and finding new, modern ways to make a living.

Working hard and evolving commitments are just a part of being human and a member of society. But in today’s economy and our digital world, the stakes seem even higher. And for new Millennials entering the workforce, the pressures can be unbearable. The group discusses how all of this impacts us today, and some interesting ways to utilize self-care to bring about better balance in our lives.

“You can’t build trust, you can’t build a life, if you can’t protect what you absolutely need.” – Claire
